In Vlogging for Real Estate Agents Part I: Getting Started we talked about what a vlog (or video log) is, how it helps real estate agents be more successful, and how to set up your vlog.
But picking a topic to vlog about can be the most challenging part!
Below is a list of great vlogging topics and ideas to help get you
started.
- “Open house” series. Record a virtual tour of one of your listings. As you’re walking the home, describe to viewers details about the home you are showing. Do this for all of your listings (it’s a great way to promote yourself as an agent and to market your listings as well). In fact, vlogging was the most effective means of marketing listings for one of our clients – he often sold homes to people who had discovered them on his YouTube channel.
- “New home construction” series. If you sell homes in communities that are still building, go to the construction site and record and describe what will become of the grounds and how it will affect the community. Continue to go back and update the building process.
- “New home buyer” series. Create a set of 5 tips for new home buyers. Once a week, film a short video covering one of the tips.
- “Market stats” series. One of our clients did a monthly vlog on the local market statistics. It drew a lot of viewers to his YouTube channel (where people often stayed and watched his listing videos as well). These sorts of videos are great, too, at establishing you as the local market expert.
- “Community news” series. Talking about what’s going on in the communities you serve is one of the easiest vlog topics (you could probably do a great vlog right now, off the top of your head). At the same time, it’s one of the most valuable; after all, people care as much, if not more, about the community as they do the home itself.
